Diet
One thing that really helps with our connection with our spiritual energies, is our diet. Our diet also plays a huge factor in our overall health and our moods. Certain types of diets have different benefits than other types. Eating meat tends to ground our energies so we can’t feel them as much, because our bodies spend more energy digesting, than they do giving us energy. Where as a vegitarian diet, the food is much more easily absorbed, and gives you much more energy for immediate use. This is why vegitarians feel better overall, than meat eaters. Then there is another kind of diet, which is the most natural, however, it’s also the hardest to maintain. That is a raw food, vegan diet. This type of diet is the most efficient for feeling the subtle inner energies within the body, and practicing using them.
Raw food is the healthiest choice you can make, because you are eating food as it is supplied by nature, with full nutrients and vitamins. The minute you cook food, you destroy some of these valuable necessities. However, in our modern society, it’s very hard to keep a diet like this up, and not many do. We just have to make conscious decisions on what we eat. Unfortunately, society makes anything that is healthy for us, much more expensive than things that are terrible for us. Why is this? The knowledge of what is good and what is bad is out there, yet, anything good is out of reach for most people. It seems intentional to me, that society has gone out of its way to create its own problems, and then make people pay to solve them. Especially when our diet is concerned.
If you pay close attention to the products you buy in store, you will start to notice the small print that says this product is not made with artificial horomones, or preservatives. If it doesn’t say that, then you are ingesting chemicals that may not harm you today, but after they build up in your system for years and years, who knows what you might get. Did you know that humans are the only species on the planet, that drinks milk from another species? Did you know that if you feed pasteurized milk to a calf, the calf will die? But humans will consume dairy products without a thought. The same goes with fast food, it’s so easy and so cheap, that we don’t even see another option. However fast food has so little nutritional value, that it causes more harm than good. It may fill you up so you’re no longer hungry, but over the years, you can develop any sort of ailment. From high blood pressure, to diabetes, to any sort of vitamin deficiency, and possibly even cancer. What you eat today, determines what will become of you in the future.
I’m not saying go and be a vegan, I’m simply saying, get informed on what is healthy and what isn’t. There is nothing wrong with eating meat, as long as you aren’t eating too much, and its not laced with horomones and preservatives. You can buy grass fed beef, which is a much healthier choice. You should also eat lots of dark leafy green vegetable, preferrably organic. Instead of reaching into the cookie jar, think, and grab a carrot or an apple, or a banana…. When you put your mind to it, you will find many healthy alternatives, to the common doritos and chocolate bars and pizza pops we eat. If you do this for a week, you will notice a change in your energy levels.
Another major factor with diet, is what you drink. Sugar, in the amounts the average person consumes is very bad for our health. Things like coke, or any soda, and energy drink are terrible for your health. Drinking water all the time gets boring, but there are many healthy juices out there. I say healthy juices because many juices are all sugar without any real fruit in them. The best thing to do is look on the back of the bottle at the nutritional content. Also, if it says perishable on the bottle, you know it’s worth it.
The bottom line, is to eat and drink as nature intended it for us. If it is processed, or packaged, read the ingredients before consuming. Buy organic if possible, and keep your meat consumption to as little as possible, with the exception of fish. You can get all of your protein and other vitamins that you would normally get from meat, through other means, such as, fruits, nuts, vegetables, beans, and herbs. If you practice meditation, or yoga, or awakened kundalini, then you will notice a significant increase in awareness by following a healthier diet. This is something I have been working on myself. I have cut back drastically on my meat intake, I no longer drink soda, I only drink distilled water so I don’t take in any flouride, or juices. I haven’t been to a fast food restaurant in over 6 months. I certainly feel a lot better inside, and finding inner peace is much easier.
